Concert Fundraiser a Huge Success for CAS!

Imagine the Hollywood Bowl filled with 2,200 people--- at a private residence in La Verne, CA--- and you will have a good idea of the Hafif Family Foundation's "Concert Under the Stars" fundraising event for local nonprofits.

The Hafif Foundation arranges four concerts each year on consecutive Saturday evenings--- four different flavors of music: Classic, Jazz, Country and Disco. The concerts are held at the private estate of Mr. Herb Hafif in the hills of La Verne. The setting is beautifully landscaped and features a huge "Bowl-like" area that will accommodate over 2,000 people. One concert-goer said, "The entrance looked like we were entering a garden ... a vast garden!"

Each concert featured a full evening of entertainment, including appetizers, beverages, delicious meals, and a night of music from a variety of incredible artists. Some guests wore summery outfits of shorts and sandals while others were dressed to the nines with high heels and diamond-studded evening gowns.
Tickets for the event were $55, which included everything from parking, dinner, and the concert! And 100% of the ticket sales go directly to the nonprofit organization selling them. The Hafif Foundation donated the entire event--- from the venue, to the food, to the concert performers! All the participating organizations had to do was sell their tickets--- and keep 100% of the proceeds! Convalescent Aid Society was invited to participate for the first time this year and through the generosity of the Hafif Foundation, CAS was able to sell all of the tickets allocated to us (100) and a few additional last-minute tickets were added, allowing CAS to raise over $6,600 through Concert ticket sales!

In between song numbers, testimonials were shared of how the Hafif Family Foundation helped countless lives. When the sun went down, and the full moon lit the sky, the Chairman of the Board himself, Herb Hafif, took center stage and talked to the audience like a father to his son. In the end he encouraged all of us to follow his lead and do something for society. He said that this summer concert series generated $700,000--- all given to the different charities present.
