Welcome to our website!
The Convalescent Aid Society (CAS) is a non-profit organization in continuous operation since 1923, dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, including Burbank, Glendale and La Cañada Flintridge, through the free loan of durable medical equipment for in-home use.
We bring together a caring community of generous friends who donate both needed equipment and funds so that we can serve more families.
We believe that recovering or convalescing in the privacy of your own home offers respect and dignity during a time of personal need. We want to be your partner at this moment of your life.
Is it Time for An Assistive Device?

The act of walking is often taken for granted because most people learn to walk as toddlers and never think twice about it as they become adults. As simple as walking may appear, it is actually a complicated and coordinated task that requires many components in order to produce normal gait (e.g. adequate muscle strength, intact neurological system, available joint range of motion, etc.). It is only when we begin to lose the ability to walk normally and safely that we realize how much we’ve taken walking for granted.
By The Numbers
